Hissey Kientz Adds Zetia and Vytorin Practice

Hissey Kientz LLP recently announced a new practice area for individuals suffering from side effects after taking the drugs Zetia and Vytorin . Research published in November 2009 showed that patients taking the cholesterol drug Zetia were more likely to suffer serious and possibly life-threatening side effects compared with patients who were prescribed another drug to lower cholesterol. Vytorin is a related pill that combines Zetia (generically known as ezetimibe) with Zocor (simvastatin).

Zetia’s side effects have been linked to heart attacks, cancer, and liver damage. The new practice section includes research findings, efficacy, lawsuits and settlements, and ongoing tracking of related news.

Hissey Kientz Adds Yaz & Yasmin Practice

Products injury firm Hissey Kientz LLP has added a new practice page for the birth control pills Yaz and Yasmine, which have been shown to double the risk of developing potentially deadly blood clots. The generic version of this drug is called Ocella.

The new practice page describes how the drug drospirenone, the active ingredient in Yaz and Yasmin, can pose serious health risks including: heart attacks, strokes, pulmonary embolisms, deep vein thrombosis, gall bladder problems and death. McClanahan Myers Espey Launches Dead Peasant Insurance FAQ

Hissey Kientz Adds Fleet Phospho-soda Practice Page

Product injury firm Hissey Kientz LLP has just added a new practice page for Fleet Phospho-soda, a saline laxative that has been linked to renal failure and acute phosphate nephropathy.

The page describes Phospho-soda, which was also sold as Fleet Phospho-soda EZ-Prep Bowel Cleansing System, its side effects, and news on recalls and lawsuits. In late 2008, the product was recalled shortly after the FDA issued a health alert, warning that Fleet Phospho-soda posed a risk of causing kidney damage, and should only be available by prescription.

Hissey Kientz Adds Herbal Fen-Phen Practice Page

Hissey Kientz LLP recently added a new practice page for herbal Fen-Phen to hkllp.com.

Herbal Fen-Phen contains ephedra, which has been linked to dangerous side effects such as primary pulmonary hypertension (PPH), primary arterial hypertension (PAH), heart attack and stroke. The FDA issued a ruling banning the sale of dietary supplements containing ephedra in 2004.

Hissey Kientz specializes in product injury cases, and is currently investigating incidents where herbal Fen-Phen users developed PPH, PAH, or other conditions. Hissey Kientz is one of the first law firms to assist with these types of claims.

Jonathan Rosenfeld Launches Bed Sore FAQ Website

Chicago-based nursing home lawyer Jonathan Rosenfeld has just launched a new website called BedSoreFAQ.com.

According to Rosenfeld’s Nursing Homes Abuse Blog:
