Themis Solutions Announces Clio’s New Client Portal: ClientConnect

Stem client Themis Solutions announced new expanded functionality today with ClientConnect, a new set of enhancements to their web-based law practice management tool, Clio. ClientConnect is an interactive client portal module that allows lawyers to extend their web-services including: document sharing, collaboration, web-based invoicing, and online bill payments.

Launched at the New York LegalTech conference, ClientConnect is aimed at the web-based management of projects similar to Basecamp, and expanded web-invoicing and payment tracking functionality similar to FreshBooks. Both additions look to be an excellent complement to Clio’s core functionality, which previously included:

  • case/matter management
  • time tracking
  • billing/reporting
  • client contact and document management
  • task scheduling
  • trust accounting
  • performance metrics

ClientConnect really expands Clio’s capabilities. Clio’s clients can now securely share information online via an easy-to-use interface, and send electronic bills which can then be payed using PayPal or other online payment systems.

Similar to Clio’s original core modules, ClientConnect is safe and secure, backed by a data escrow guarantee, bank-grade encryption, and rigid password protection (read more about it on Clio’s three-part series on privacy, security, and data accessibility, as noted by Stem last fall). Best of all, ClientConnect is a value-added, free of charge addition available to all Clio subscribers.

The release of ClientConnect was also accompanied by the news that in Clio’s 2008 customer satisfaction survey, 100% of subscribers said they would recommend Clio to other lawyers.

Lexblog Additions to FLBWatch.com

Stem Legal Web Enterprises Inc. is pleased to welcome eight new Lexblog-powered lawyer blogs to the Florida Lawyer Blog Watch.

FLBwatch.com is Stem’s joint project with our client (and also Lexblog client) Ronald Chapman, who is himself a blogging West Palm Beach attorney. FLBWatch monitors the latest posts from lawyers blogging across the State of Florida, and produces a temporary aggregation of those entries. That means the site will show, on average, about three days’ worth of commentary.

Stem would also like to note the continued expansion of this site, which now monitors 48 blogs in total. This influx from Lexblog brings their total number of contributors to thirteen, including eight new ones (below) marked as new!

Thanks goes out to Rob La Gatta for contributing the updated list. And a big welcome goes out to all the newly added Florida law blogs!

New Stem Website Tracks DUI Lawyer Blogs

Stem Legal Web Enterprises is pleased to announce the launch of the DUI Lawyer Blog Watch. This new website, located at DUIBlogWatch.com, offers a one-page aggregation of the 50 most recent postings by attorneys blogging on DUI law.

Similar to the website Stem launched in January which tracks Florida Lawyer blogs, the DUI Lawyer Blog Watch uses RSS technology to mix together the most recent commentary provided by blogging DUI lawyers; which numbered 53 as of launch today.

Once again, Stem’s approach has been to develop this type of website with the help of one of its clients. Lawrence Koplow, a Phoenix DUI lawyer, and who blogs at the Arizona DUI Defense Blog, will serve as one of the principal contact points for the site. Attorneys blogging on issues related to DUI law can contact either Lawrence or Steve Matthews to have their website added.

We are also pleased to note that there have been some improvements to Stem’s original feed mixing model. In addition to including blogs dedicated to the subject of DUI law, this site also collects the feeds for a number of noted Criminal law bloggers – whose posts are treated in a slightly different manner. Unlike DUI blog posts which will immediately go into the mix, Criminal law blogs are pre-filtered to include only those posts with the terms DUI or DWI. This was done to impose a greater level of subject relevance for the website’s readers.

For more information about the DUI Lawyer Blog Watch, please contact Steve Matthews at 604.826.8072, or by email at steve@stemlegal.com

About Lawrence Koplow: Lawrence Koplow is a former DUI and Vehicular Crimes prosecutor with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. As founding partner of Koplow Law Firm, Mr. Koplow now uses this experience for the benefit of clients, practicing exclusively as an Arizona DUI Lawyer. More information about Mr. Koplow’s services can be found on his Arizona DUI Center website at www.arizonaduicenter.com. His opinions and commentary on issues related to Arizona DUI law can be found on his Arizona DUI Defense Blog – located at duiblog.arizonaduicenter.com.

About Stem Legal Web Enterprises: Stem Legal helps law firms build online profile and increase web-driven business. Tactics range from law firm SEO and link building campaigns, to audience profiling and content development strategies. New White Paper Compares BC Legislation Tracking

[June 26, 2008] A new white paper comparing British Columbia legislative tracking services was released today by Crosby Group Consulting. The report titled, Quickscribe: A Comparison and Evaluation Report, was commissioned by Stem Legal Web Enterprises Inc. to objectively identify key differences between Quickscribe Services Inc. and the BC government offering QP LegalEze.

The report is being released today, with permission from Quickscribe Services, at the request of Steve Matthews, Stem’s Founder and President. Steve comments:

“The intent of the report was twofold; to do an objective comparison between the two services, and to identify areas for improvement with Quickscribe’s product. Mike Pasta [Quickscribe’s President] wanted the process to be transparent and open. Many of the suggested improvements were already in the works; but this report solidifies what we already knew: Quickscribe’s legislative tracking service outclasses the government’s offering by a wide margin.

Connie Crosby is one of the most trusted names in the Canadian legal research. By releasing this third-party report, we’re providing the BC market with the most accurate service comparison done to date.”

Key findings from the Crosby Group report identified a number of advantages for Quickscribe Services, including:

  • faster system updates than QP LegalEze;
  • more competitive pricing;
  • easier navigation for users;
  • superior ‘alert’ technology for updates;
  • more accessible customer assistance;
