Stem Legal client Jonathan Rosenfeld of Strellis & Field continues to make improvements to his content network.  Available this morning, his two newest collections include a pathfinder to Bed Sore Research Studies, and a topical list of books and journal articles related to nursing home injuries.

First launched in May, 2009, Mr. Rosenfeld’s Bed Sore FAQs website offers a dynamic collection of frequently-asked questions and answers on topics related to bed sore injuries, also known as pressure sores, pressure ulcers or decubitus ulcers.  The Bed Sore FAQ has continued to grow in 2010 with the introduction of the Bed Sore Resource Center, and is now expanding again with a new section on Bed Sore Research Studies.  The new section is accessible both as a link on the main Resource Center or from the Resource Center sidebar which is embedded throughout the website.  The Bed Sore Research Studies section contains information about and links to recent studies and clinical trials on bed sore prevention and treatment, including studies currently recruiting participants.

Stem congratulates our client, product injury firm Hissey Kientz LLP on the launch of their new microsite for their Paxil Birth Defects practice.

The new website explains that the antidepressant Paxil has been linked to an increased risk of birth defects in the children of women who take the drug while pregnant. In 2005, the Food and Drug Administration warned that women who take Paxil during pregnancy are twice as likely to have children with major birth defects as those who are prescribed other antidepressants. The site details the types of Paxil birth defects that have been seen, including atrial and ventricular septal defects, or holes in the walls of the chambers of the heart, with symptoms sometimes so severe that they required surgery. Research has also shown an increased risk of persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN). Children born with PPHN suffer from circulatory problems that can lead to respiratory failure shortly after birth.

The site also highlights serious Paxil side effects and information about Paxil lawsuits, and is frequently updated with news about Paxil and legal settlements.

Construction workers—including electricians, painters, plumbers and roofers—and workers employed at oil or chemical refineries, factories, or other industrial sites are among the individuals most heavily affected by exposure.
