The Scoop on Semantic Keyword Research

Digging out from a bunch of unread feeds in my Google Reader, I came across a great post from Neil Patel on semantic keyword research. Patel defines semantic search as “technology that tries to determine what users mean when they type in a certain keyword.”  It’s what happens when Google gives you suggestions as you type into the search box – Google prompts you to put in more keywords to get a clearer idea of what you’re looking for.

Anyway, Patel gives some creative ideas for doing semantic keyword research, including tips on identifying keywords using Google, Pinterest, Delicious, Twitter & TweetDeck, Social Mention, OpenBook, and others – with an emphasis on how location plays into all of this. A helpful read with lots of practical examples.
